ABOUT OUR SCHOLARSHIPS

The Robert Moreman Memorial Scholarship (RMMS) will be available to graduating seniors (12th grade) from Wimberley High School (WHS) and Katherine Anne Porter School (KAPS), both located in Wimberley, Texas, as well as home-schooled seniors in the 78676 zip code and single gap-year graduates from either high school.

The initial goal is to fund at least two single-year scholarships of $5k+ annually, with an option for more depending on available funds. Fundraising will take place from September through December to be awarded the following year. Applications will be accepted January 1 through April 15 for scholarships presented each May.

Winning students must have displayed a consistently strong aptitude in and interest in one of WimberleyArts.org’s four pillars – visual, performing, literary, and culinary arts, with active plans for continuing education in preparation for a career in that field. To honor Robert’s profession and passion, the fund will also consider students attending trade or technical schools to prepare for careers in the building trades.

Consideration will be given for level of commitment, demonstrated interest and competence, recommendations from teachers and other adult mentors, good citizenship, and financial need.

  • The applicant must be a registered full-time student, or have graduated within one year, and must provide academic records that demonstrate academic standing at WHS or KAPS High Schools or through the official home-school association in the 78676 zip.

  • Scholarships will be awarded to students seeking higher education in colleges, universities, or after high school technical or trade schools.

  • Academic performance (grades) will be considered but will not be the primary criterion when selecting the scholarship recipients.
