Wimberley Valley has always attracted visual artists and is known throughout Central Texas and beyond for quality fine art and excellent galleries. Oil painters, watercolorists, sculptors, glass artists, multi-media, photographers, and video artists – with local, national and international reputations – add immeasurably to the quality of life here.
PERFORMING ARTISTS
Less than an hour from Austin, the music capital of the world, Wimberley is well known for the caliber of its performing artists – musicians, singers, actors, voice artists, film makers, and many related professionals. Wimberley Valley is home to two theatres, many musical venues, a community radio station, production studios and more.
LITERARY ARTISTS
Inspiration is in the air here and writers are attracted by the beauty and peace found in Wimberley Valley’s hilly vistas. It’s not surprising that song writers abound here, but so do novelists, playwriters, memoirists, and poets, as well as writers who earn their living by the pen and related fields – journalists, editors, PR pros, bloggers, and publishers.
