Rodney Bursiel
Born in the largest city in Texas. Live in one of the smallest cities in Texas. Learned scuba at 10. Competitive swimmer. Hand fed an 8’ green moray eel. 3 plates and 22 screws hold my hip together. Made geological survey maps for oil exploration. Built houses. Graduated from Southwest TX State with the most boring degree possible. Worked at Dell for 5 days. Never been fired. Had a pajama party with Angelina Jolie. Wrote a screenplay. Moved to LA (twice). Played basketball with Kevin Costner. Saved the dog in Pearl Harbor. Rigged lights for music videos. Climbed to the top of the Astrodome. Published a magazine. Lived in a 150 square foot tiny house I built for $5,000. Moved up to my 900 square foot palatial estate. Rode in a 3 day horseback pilgrimage through Mexico with a broken ankle. Been face to face with great white sharks, salt water crocodiles, killer whales, 30 ton humpbacks, herds of stampeding horses and rock stars. Only one of those is dangerous. Surfed with Donavon Frankenreiter. Scuba dove all over the world. Wear flip flops and cowboy hats. Love to read Christopher Moore books. Can’t get enough traveling. Turbulence freaks me out. Never missed a flight. Left brained, right handed, left footed. And won a bunch of awards for photos I have taken all over the world.

Carmella Jarvi is a Canyon Lake, TX artist who loves to transform spaces — often around the theme of water — with glass and public art. She is fascinated with the intersections of glass, light, water and the natural world.

Shea Breaux Wells
Shea is a vocalist and songwriter with an emphasis on jazz, although she loves to push the boundaries of genre. Her arrangements often embrioder the songs with unexpected twists and turns, turning a jazz set on its end. Additionally, Shea is a creative strategist, a vocal and songwriting coach who encourages artists to deeply engage with their soul, their body, their music, their own alignment, their truth, their approach to showing up, and ultimately with the unknown. Shea uses the voice and the song as a way to travel back home...and we know that home is where the heart is.

Wimberley Community Chorus
A Brief History of the Chorus:
In 1980 Rich Howe, a charter member of the Wimberley Players, attended a musical drama entitled "Living Witnesses." He was so impressed by it that he wanted to present this work in Wimberley. He approached Mary Guemple and asked her to direct the music, while he directed the drama. Mary put together a 23 voice choir and the first performance of Living Witnesses was given on Easter at Chapel in the Hills. On July 4th the singers and the players again collaborated in a musical drama, I Love America. On July 20th the singers organized into what is now the Wimberley Community Chorus.
Through the years the chorus has performed everything from excepts from Broadway musicals to major works such as Handel's Messiah and Mendelsohn's Elijah. In the past the chorus has had a brass ensemble from the Wimberley High School Band for several selections, and has been assisted by a string orchestra from San Antonio and Children's Choirs.
The chorus has three concert seasons each year. We give three performances in the spring, two on the Fourth of July and three performances in the fall. We sing for several community organizations at different times of the year.
In the years since 1980, community patronage has provided support so that the Chorus has never been in the "red" or charged admission.

Cardenas, Elaine
I paint badly, but enjoy it. The arts in general are very important in my life. My graduate work in Cultural Studies focused on ethnography and visual arts. Part of that involves reception studies--how people interpret art, how they are shaped by it, and how they create meaning from it. I am particularly interested in rebellious uses of art . . . ways of provoking thought or action.
