Penny and the Jets – retooled for a special House Concert.

Playing music from “the wrong side of the tracks” – Old School Soul, Blues, Motown, Funk and Jazz. From the likes of the Temptations, BB King, Ry Cooder, Etta James, Delbert McClinton, Barbara Lynn, Susan Tedeschi, Sam Cooke, Sam and Dave, Bonnie Raitt and the list goes on!

An upgraded Penny with all new Jets!

Penny started singing as a child with her family who sang together at home. She sang in school choir and church choir near Detroit. Then her world was shaken when, at age 12 she heard the voice of Little Stevie Wonder and Motown came on strong. You may have heard her with local vocal groups and bands, including The Wonder Broads, Gruene River Radio and Night Shift Radio or at the infamous CCC or Jacks Roadhouse, Middletons, or many other local venues.

Players – the retooled, refueled Jets

Lee Conatser – Also of Stratocrackers, and Kim Meeks. drums, backup vocals. Lee’s country roots were shaken when he first heard Motown music at age 13.

Richard Parke – former touring musician, Sister Sledge. Multi instrumentalist, session recording artist, songwriter and composer of Pop, Jazz and Classical. Richard started playing Soul music with local Philly bands at age 13.

Jeff Stocki – Bass, guitar, keyboards, drums. Music producer, multi instrumentalist. Grew up playing punk and rock, but sounds like he’s been playin jazz his whole life.

Dave Lloyd – Dave Lloyd, tenor saxophone, currently plays with The Numbers, and has been seen lurking around South Austin music venues for the last few years.

Steve Wilson – harmonica and percussion.Steve’s musical career came with a big push from his family, at the age of 50 when they bought him a harmonica and drums. Over the last 18 years he’s played in several regional bands doing island music, rock, folk, Americana, and blues. He plays regularly with The Michael James Band.

Bob Slaughter – guitar, vocals. A mainstay of the Central Texas Austin’s music scene collaborating with many well know musicians and leaving his mark on iconic venues such as Liberty Lunch, White Rabbit, Mercado Caribe & Hudson on Mercer. Slaughter’s music pushes boundaries, spreading messages of peace, love & unity.
