Wimberley has long been a muse to an array of artists. This vibrant community with its breath-taking natural beauty inspires creativity and is a magnet for arts and culture throughout the region. The arts –visual, performing, literary and culinary –are widely represented in the Wimberley Valley and have been for many generations.

The Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance ( was formed in 2013 by nearly two dozen local businesses and organizations in the region, in the belief that arts and culture enhance economic viability and quality of life. was granted 501(c)(3) status in 2014 and has achieved important designations on behalf of Wimberley, including:

  • Texas Cultural District Designation from the Texas Commission for the Arts in 2015.

  • The Wimberley Valley Cultural District was approved for expansion by the TCA in 2023 to include all of Wimberley and Woodcreek.

  • Texas Film-Friendly Community Designation by the Texas Film Commission in 2019.

  • Texas Music Friendly Designation from the Texas Commission on the Arts in 2022.”

Our Mission

The Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance ( promotes a vibrant cultural arts community – embracing visual, performing, literary and culinary arts – through appreciation, collaboration and education.

Our Mixers

Our member mixers are held on the first Wednesday evening of each month at different member venues around town. We’d love to have you join us!

Activities, Programs, & Events hosts a variety of events and activities throughout the year. brings together individual artists of all kinds, arts and culture organizations as well as people and businesses who support Wimberley as a vibrant arts community.


What You Should Know about

Recognizing that art and culture enrich our community, brings awareness and supports the Wimberley Valley as a place that honors and nurtures creativity of all kinds.

Current Community Arts Initiatives include:

  • Art Crawl-a monthly event of festivities centered around the art galleries on the Wimberley Square, beginning September 4, 2024 and continuing every 1st Thursday
  • Project Oasis-Beautification of the Courtyard at Deer Creek Nursing and Rehab
  • Gallery Trail-a website featuring all the galleries in the Wimberley Valley and Art in Public Places
  • Bootiful Wimberley-a project consisting of fifty+ 6’ tall fiberglass cowboy boots, embellished by local artists and sponsored by various organizations to highlight the arts and enhance cultural tourism
  • The Robert Moreman Memorial Scholarship Fund-supporting local seniors pursuing education & training in the arts and trades
  • Stars Over Wimberley Memorial Concert Series – supporting the Robert Moreman Memorial Scholarship Fund
  • Music Friendly – highlighting the vast number of musicians, venues, and studios in the Wimberley Valley

Other Accomplishments:

  • Launched and produced annual community-wide Wings Over Wimberley arts and music festivals.
  • Launched the Hill Country’s first Storytelling Festival in 2019 and Story Fests annually, featuring “Story in all its Forms”
  • Launched and hosted Wimberley Alive, Music and Arts Festivals in 2015 and 2016.
  • At the 2016 Festival led the “Empty Bowl” fundraiser for Crisis Bread Basket sold 900 soup bowls decorated by local student and adult artisans.
